No words, well, few words, amazing to say the very least... still in a state of surreality...

Can someone post the set-list?

Anyone know the name of the singer or band that opened for Hope? I didn't catch it when the lead singer said it...

The showing was so surreal, i couldn't believe the scene. They looked great on stage, shining in the darking like bioilluminesence........Hope was sexier than ever. I really like Dirt Blue Gene too, i saw them both in Hollywood last month, consistently great shows. I think they are back with great momentum. It was wonderful to see people coming out of the wordwork to see Hope singing on stage again. People were talking throughout most of the concert until The Inventions hit the stage. At that point, people were gathering to sit in isles just to get a good look at the stage. What a great feeling to be in their presence. It's been a long time dream of mine, and one that probably can't be topped.

I also heard about some little criticism after the New York show, but we are glad to have her back in California; as she mentioned when she walked to the mic for the first time that night......

I was at the Hollywood Forever show last month, and that was a great show at the perfect setting for Hope to perform at...

However, the Mayan was more of a real "venue". Sound-wise, the Mayan was much better than the Hollywood show - a much more "musical performance-friendly" venue that afforded much better acoustics.

When Hope walked on stage, she looked SO good! Black skirt with those black boots.... I gasped when I saw her. Right before the show began, she commented on how "bright" it was "up here" - illustrating her aversion to the "spotlight". I heard some stage person explain to her quickly that her spot was going to be illuminated briefly so pictures could be taken - or some such reason. She appeared to understand and soldiered on!

The crowd was stoked last night! Much more animated and lively than the more somber Hollywood crowd - where I was one of them, I must confess. Perhaps that had something to do with the bar at the Mayan. After all, it IS a club! At any rate, the crowd was so happy to be seeing Hope perform again after so long.

At one point, Hope thanked her dad for coming to the show and gave him a big wave (up towards the balcony seating, I assumed). I have to say that my favorite moment from last night's performance was when Hope looked off to the side of the stage and spotted who I am assuming was one or both of two young boys who I spied hanging around the side of the stage earlier in the evening - perhaps nephews, or sons of a band member...??? I don't know for sure. Anyway, when Hope looked off to the side and spotted him (them), a look of utter adoration came over her face and she gave a sweet little wave like one gives very young children. It was a moment of sweetness that showed me a side of her that melted me - more so than the usual way she makes me melt.

Musically, the show was awesome. The band sounded great, Hope sounded great... and last night's performance of "For The Rest Of Your Life" solidified that song as my favorite from her new album as well as my favorite live song from The Warm Inventions.

I am glad that I decided to go last night and didn't talk myself out of going just because I had "already seen her" at Hollywood Forever. I was supposed to go to see U2 this Sunday at the Rose Bow, but I decided not to deal with the hassle of such a large venue and sold my $251.50ยข ticket for a decent seat. I have no regrets about this because I can tell myself that I saw one of the best shows I've ever seen last night for $22.00, and I was right at the edge of the stage... looking up at a true vision of beauty in ever way, shape, and form.

Thanks, Hope! Please don't make us wait so long for the next tour!

You made the right choice, mate. I wouldn't pay $2.22 to see U2 these days..
and then...

... Thank you for posting the set-list! Maybe I was too high on the show, but wasn't there a third song that they played during the encore??

The opening singer was Suki Ewers, who has played with Hope in Mazzy Star and Opal. She also does some keyboards on the new record.
