The psychedelia that's in MS

I got mesmerized by Hope's voice in MS because I heard all a series of voices past and present from Mariska (of Shocking Blue RIP:() right on to Donna Goodchaux and that kind of psychedelic sublimeness is what I dig.

I think the echo/delay/reverb sound mixed with the slide guitar make a very haunting back-drop that fits Hope's vocals wonderfully. I missed that mixture on BFB a bit and thought it sounded more folksy compared to Mazzy (not as haunting) either is good depending on your mood.

With BLanchard I hear a lot more of that haunting quality and hope the the rest of the album keeps the same atmosphere. Her voice interacts so well in that styling.

Yes, I agree. It's the energy flow that goes from the band's music to Hope's voice and vice-versa:). Great stuff.

i get the impression from the warm inventions arrangements that may be hope felt her voice wasnt central enough to the mazzy records , and perhaps was too often fighting d.robacks guitar work ( which i love )

i can hear all the elements of mazzy in the hope post-mazzy work , except the guitar work is far more subdued and more than likely acoustic rather than a strat playing through valves

consider bavarian fruit bread to be very psychedelic though
