Me!

Local indie shop let me down and didn't get it in today, so I had to drive 10 miles to the only store that I know of that had a copy.......Barnes & Noble. The music employee there is a Hope fan and has her first CD!

Does anyone else have a small brown spot near the edge of their CD? This looks like the beginning of CD rot to me. Very strange.

Actually, yes. I noticed it when I first took it out of the case, but didn't think about it...

I bought mine at a show, so if it flawed, then it looks like it's pretty widespread.

I went to an FYE super-store that has rarely let me down. The guy tells me "it's showing up in our computer system" but it's not on the shelves. check back tomorrow, he tells me.

I drive over to Best Buy knowing FULL WELL they aren't going to have it, so I'm totally NOT disappointed when I get there and they don't have it.

The last place I can think of is Borders, waaaay on the outskirts of town towards the ocean. I'm cursing myself the entire drive out there for not having ordered a copy off Amazon in the digital age.

Low and behold, Borders has THREE copies of the new record and a lone copy of the Bavarian Fruit Bread re-issue in the Santana section (Ariba!). I bought two of the three TDS copies and the BFB to supplement my aging first edition from way back in 2001. I am happy. So happy you wouldn't believe.

I'm seeing Hope in Philadelphia and Washington DC next month. I am now SUPER-happy.
and then...

Thanks for the heads-up, you guys.... maybe I'll skip Best Buy and F.Y.E., etc. to avoid wasting my time, and head over to Barnes & Noble first. Should have just kept my pre-order from Amazon.com, but I canceled it figuring I'd have fun buying it in-person.

Great to hear these stories. I have the new album in a mix play-list I call "Sleepy Time" I've been listening too every night. The entire play-list has the following albums:

Hope Sandoval - Through the Devil Softly
Mazzy Star - So Tonight That I Might See
Mazzy Star - Among My Swan
Trespassers William - Different Stars
Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Raising Sand

A couple of songs off Sinead Occonor's album "The Lion & The Cobra"
A few Remix tunes from the cure off their album "Mixed Up"
A few songs from Enigma off the album "MCMXC AD"

Been sleeping like a baby!

I went in to Best Buy on the release day (Tuesday 29th) in Dallas, Texas. Their computers showed the CD in the system but the whole area's stock was at ZERO.

The next day (on Wednesday) I called a local chain media store called "Movie Trading Company" (now owned by Vintage Stock) and they showed ONE NEW COPY in their computers. So, I asked the girl to do a visual on the CD and make sure they actually had it before I drove their. She couldn't find it at first than she looked behind the counter where all the new release CDs were stacked up (prior to being put on the shelves) and their it was. She then put my name on it and I came up there Wednesday night before they closed and paid $11.99 for it.

I was very happy I got the CD, it was a low reasonable price (new) and that I only had to drive ONE mile to the music store to pay for it! I've already put it on my iTunes & iPhone and happen to be listening to it over and over on my bluetooth wireless stereo headphones while i'm at work right now.

If you are looking for a hard copy of Hope's new CD "Through The Devil Softly" and you don't want to download it from iTunes.
Please, try the below suggestions.

IF YOU LIVE IN TEXAS, OKLAHOMA, KANSAS, MISSOURI OR ARKANSAS:
Try buying the CD at a store called "MOVIE TRADING COMPANY" (in Texas only) or "VINTAGE STOCK" in the other states mentioned.
I live in Dallas, Texas and found one new-sealed copy available for $11.99 at "Movie Trading Company". I snagged it ofcourse, before it was gone. They hadn't even put it out on the shelf yet, even though it was on Wednesday (the day after it came out).

ALL OTHER STATES IN AMERICA:
Try buying the CD at either "Barnes & Noble" or "Border's Books". Best Buy does not appear to be selling the CD now (if ever) even though their computers may show it in the system it will also probably show they have ZERO in-stock at all the stores in your area. Don't waste your time.

Finally got my copy of TTDS.... :geek: :D :D :D :D :D :D ....I'm a happier man today....by far. I don't know if you guys might feel at getting this CD...or I do in reality!!! There is just so much charisma and powerful psychedelic thoughts going thru my mind only at having and feeling the album in my hands. It might be only me, but I get the same sparks up my spine like the first time I held the copy of Surrealistic Pillow by JA or Grateful Dead album by GD in my hands!!!! :D :D :D

ROCK ON WITH HOPE

So I just bought my copy off of Amazon. I did the mp3 download version. I thought they would have the cd booklet for download but they didn't. Sucks for me.
