I would have thought this would be old news around here, but it appears not.

New show at Great American Music Hall, post ATP. This seems like a far more appropriate venue than the Fillmore was. It'll be interesting to see whether it's a one-off/homecoming, or whether more West Coast dates pop up.

ATP show got good reviews, finally. im curious about this show, the homecoming finale show....any reviews?
And what went wrong in Australia??

It was a decent gig - I can't really rave about it. I saw four shows at the start of the tour, and nothing has really changed. Same set list, same mood lighting, same lack of courtesy towards the audience. Her vocals were stunning as ever, but she always manages to ruin what is an amazing performance with her antics. On this occasion, it was the 10+ minute wait between the main set and the encore. GAMH is a small venue (600-700 capacity), but it was less than half full for this show. To keep that many people waiting as you preen in the back is just silly - it was embarrassing as there were times over that period when the crowd was almost silent. We're a bit too old to clap that long as an ego stroke.

Homecoming or not, it felt just like any other night.

Every time i read another bewildered review of Hope in concert it makes me laugh because this diva-persona-without -a-performance- live singer is exactly what u should expect from this very different kind of artist..... to me that makes seeing Hope live in concert so hilarious & special & sometimes a real live wire act because they are not there to entertain an audience.... The purpose is to recreate the songs live, and sometimes by accomplishing JUST THAT, IT CAN BE an awesome, hypnotizing experience!!
that is providing an audience that doesnt disturb or provoke, or interrupt the musicians on stage with noise or bantering..... lol
