Hope and David Roback formed Mazzy Star in the late '80s and released 3 albums.

From Rolling Stone (US) July 6, 2009: As for Mazzy Star, Sandoval confirms her and her bandmate David Roback haven’t called it quits and they are still working on their anticipated fourth album. But she declines to give many specifics. “It’s true we’re still together,” she says. “We’re almost finished [with the record]. But I have no idea what that means.”

Great news that Mazzy Star isn't dead. As much as I'm looking forward the Hope album and tour, a Mazzy Star album would be unreal. Among My Swan was my favorite of their albums and it was unbelievable how nothing much was heard from them as Mazzy Star for so long. Great to hear that a Mazzy Star project is in the works as well.

MS, Hope and Davis are like good friends...they never abandon you:) . My personal thanx to Hope and MS for all the good vibes they conveyed to me in these years.....the 80s would have been even darker (musically) than they were without Hope's beautiful voice

The comment that she 'doesn't know what that means' doesn't give us any confirmation of a release..... even if the music is finished it can be a long journey from that point to an album drop. I do hope we hear more solid (positive) info on this sooner rather than later
