hey all

i was a mazzy star fan from she hangs brightly and love hopes solo work too : hoping to catch her either in the uk or US over next few weeks depending on whether my crazy personal life has settled down or not !

throught i would share this little story ... from the uk but spent a year around 91/92 travelling in the US after graduating , finally landing in the bay area where i lived and worked for several months ... one such job was in a restaurant on fishermans wharf by pier 39 ... one day i was outside the restaurant ( tarantinos ! ) and these two guys about my age wandered by , one of them wearing a mazzy star shirt ... as mazzy were then fairly obscure but ultra-cool and very dear to me i collared them and we got talking ... i think just a few months before leaving the uk id been lucky enough to catch a load of legendary bands live - lush , throwing muses , galaxie 500 , cocteau twins , pale saints etc and during the conversation with the mazzy star t-shirt kid i kind of it talked it up a bit too much and told them id seen mazzy star play in england too ... thats when the one guy turned to the other and said " are you going to tell him ? " and then the mazzy star t-shirt guy said " im hopes brother " !

so i need to se her live if only to redress that wrong !

yeah i still regret my youthful enthusiasm and exaggeration that day ...

That is cool you have been able to see so many cool bands though.

"wood" can you please look at the family photo I posted with topic name of "Hope & Family Photo..." under the "General Discussion" section of this forum and tell us which person you met that day. Hopefully, he's pictured in the photo. Let me know which guy it is.

i dont know man , i totally respect hopes privacy and i feel privileged to know her as much as i do through her music

i didnt mean that other comment to sound supercilious which when i read it back it did ... and i cant seem to find the edit button ... but i think the girl needs her privacy and family snapshots are more celebrity heat than im prepared to go
