i suppose i ll start then

i was a fan of mazzy star from she hangs brightly ( released when i was a student ) all the way through and when bavarian fruit bread came out i was amazed at how much of those records hope carried with her ... i dont think that was necessarily understood in the mazzy star days ... such a beautiful record

managed to get a last minute ticket to the south bank show november 2009

love her material and her way ... i dont for a moment begrudge her her privacy or stance on touring although ... obviously ... id be into it if she suddenly got bit by the tour bus bug

im stoically vinyl only and have never made the leap to digital music etc etc and so dont even have the new record yet so hope if youre out there reading this ... i waited three years for orphans to appear on record ... dont make me wait another 3 for through the devil softly !

Hello! I am a long time reader of this forum and I am just joining now. I am hoping to acquaint with forum features and think this forum is very good.

LOL! Just kidding! :D

I have been a Mazzy Star fan since "So Tonight That I Might See" was released. Yes, I jumped on the bandwagon upon hearing "Fade Into You". However, my first Mazzy album was "She Hangs Brightly". I was instantly hooked.

I remember hearing the "Suzanne" EP playing in a local indie record store back in 2002. I was like, "Whoah! Which Mazzy Star album are you playing?!?!?". I was enlightened by the clerk that it was, in fact, Hope solo material.

Fast-forward seven years, and here I am... still a huge fan!

I also want to add that Hope represents to me music that is not tied-down to any particular labels or categories.... an artist who herself, as well as her music, flies in the face of the music industry and does what she wants when she wants.
