Hope's musical career began in 1986 with her friend Sylvia Gomez in the folk band Going Home.


Mazzy Star

Hope and David Roback formed Mazzy Star in the late '80s and have released 3 albums to date:

Mazzy Star status: Sandoval confirms her and her bandmate David Roback haven't called it quits and they are still working on their anticipated fourth album. But she declines to give many specifics. "It's true we're still together," she says. "We're almost finished [with the record]. But I have no idea what that means."

Hope Sandoval and The Warm Inventions

In 2001, Hope Sandoval and The Warm Inventions released Bavarian Fruit Bread and toured the US and Europe in the fall of 2002. Two EPs were also released: At The Doorway Again and Suzanne.

Collaborations

In addition to Mazzy Star and The Warm Inventions, Hope has collaborated with a variety of artists including The Jesus & Mary Chain, The Chemical Brothers, Death In Vegas, Bert Jansch, Richard X, Air, Vetiver, and Le Volume Courbe. Hope sings on "Paradise Circus" from Massive Attack's forthcoming album, Heligoland, scheduled to be released February 9, 2010. Video is NSFW and can be seen here.
